*SPOILERS* for Prologue to The Rage of Lions Author: Bunnythor Date: 1999/04/01 Forum: rec.arts.sf.written.robert-jordan Whoo hoo! I guess those rumors of a half-finished book are true after all! Not only do we have a title--_The Rage of Lions_--but also a Prologue at the web site! Needless to say there are Major, Super-Duper, Omni-Spoilers below. S P O I L E R S ! ! ! ! ! That should be good enough. Well, 4 different viewpoints, *more* new characters, and !!! some answered questions. I'll let you all read it, but a few highlights of my impressions. I loved when Nyn casually brought up that she, as Queen of Malkier, socially outranked Elaine as Daughter-Heir. And I was even more shocked that Lan smiled at this. There has *got* to be more to it than this... We may not be going to Shara, but the Sharans are certainly coming to Randland. I just hope this "Seeker" joker isn't just another prophesy-following putz looking to prove that Rand is indeed, the Big Kahuna. I just want to know what the hell Hurin is doing with Valan Luca's menagerie. Egeanin is obviously hiding, but Hurin? And the big shocker...Mat is really dead--sorta. Or at least his body is lying there while he is wandering around. Interesting how he doesn't seem to notice or be inconvienced by this as he continues to look for Olver. I just hope this isn't really cheesy like "Ghost Dad", or for that matter "Ghost". It's sorta late in the story to be introducing the idea of ghosts. Scratch that. The heroes of the Horn are somewhat ghosty. I just hope that he finds the damned Dot9M, whethers he's dead or alive. Good to see him back in any event. A promising start.
