It begins by introducing our protagonists, ________, _________, ________, and _________, denizens of the extremely isolated __________, a land of simple, kind-hearted farmers who, when pressed, become as hard and reliable as the stone of their country. The central town of this realm is preparing for a grand annual festival, celebrating ____________, which by rumor will include feasts, storytelling and - the exciting part - fireworks! However, the festival is rudely interrupted when a traveling, closemouthed "wizard", ___________, arrives, and the heroes learn that the Dark One S_____n is searching for them, sending his evil Black Riders, or ____________, to search for them. The Black Riders lead troops of __________, a twisted race resulting from thousands of years of selective breeding from the original, free stock of men. Our main characters secretly escape from the Riders, hurrying to the river town of ____________ and taking the old wooden ferry that crosses the river there, through a dark fog. Having escaped for the time, they stay off of the main road and eventually reach the small town of B______, which seems immensely large and fascinating to our poor country bumpkins, and stay in an inn owned by _______________, who is a good friend of the wizard ___________. However, they are found and attacked by the Black Riders, and forced to flee East to __________, where they believe they will be safe from the hand of evil. Characters of note: Disinherited king of long-lost nation _________, ____________ carries the symbol of his royal blood, _________. He now spends his time wandering the wilderness fighting the Shadow, and is closely allied with the aforementioned wizard. Separated from his parents when he was little, _____________ was adopted by _________, who brought him up and was like a father to him. He is the person for whom the Shadow is searching, because of _________________, the one way that the Dark One can eventually be defeated. He has sustained a terrible wound, made by a weapon made in the dark forges on the sides of the fiery mountain _________, which hurts in the presence of evil and can never fully be healed. A constant struggle rages in him between sanity and madness, between his will and the terrible power of his gift. If he succumbs, all will be lost. Driven mad by the evil power of _________, ____________ bears it with him wherever he goes and treasures it over aught else in the world. His burden makes him immortal. He vehemently hates __________, repeating the name over and over in his insanity, and will stop at nothing to kill him. He tends to mutter to himself. Popping up in the oddest places, he follows the main characters through the evil, dark passageways of _________ without a scratch, his silent footsteps just barely heard padding behind them in the dark. Undoubtedly he will play a large part in the eventual outcome of the story. GOODEVENING Ethan
