The two on the front are obviously supposed to be Lan and Moiraine. Behind them, the guy with the sword can only be Rand, apparently modelled for by Nicholas Cage. (As you know, the job later passed to Andre the Giant for the cover of the sixth book). Behind him is a yellow haired girl and a guy who appears to be Robin Hood - based on the evidence we must assume that DKS was working from an early version of the manuscript in which Mat's Shadar Logoth dagger was replaced by an orange hat, and Elayne decided to elope with Rand from Caemlyn. The last four figures are too indistinct to make out clearly, but I think we can safely assume that they're intended to represent Hurin, Gareth Bryne, Panarch Amathera, and Harry Potter, respectively. -- David K.
