I'm going to get something to drink. Later. "Uh...bye" <...> And so it goes. The first ever National Darkfriend Social will be held the last weekend in July in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pertinent information: First of all let me announce and make clear, this is a *Newsgroup* thing. This is in no way shape or form a Wheel of Time convention type thing. Anyone discussing the books will be fined five dollars. Anyone discussing Asmodean will be shot on sight. Okay, not really. But we'll probably let Novak glare at you for a while, so be careful, huh? Okay, just to make sure, this is a rasfwr-j based get together, where all of us people from all over the US (And Canada, we can't very well keep you out) can get together (along with anyone else from all over the world who wants to make the trek) and thumb our collective noses at the Sacnadahoovians and Brits and Aussies, and everyone else in the world and maybe even get a collective moon going on. Who knows. It's all about rasfwr-j, got it? Good. On the 30th and 31st of July, (Friday and Saturday) we will meet in a hotel in Las Vegas that is yet to be chosen. After checking around, it has been found that a group rate of about $60.00 a night can be found for a room with either two double beds or a king. There will be a dinner held on Saturday Night in honor of all that is rasfwr-jian, and much debauchery to found all over in between. And we might even do some other stuff. The price range at this point (not including transportation to and from Las Vegas) is as follows: For a room all by yourself: about $160.00. For double occupancy splitting the cost of the room: about $100.00 per person. What will that get you, you ask? Well, that will get you a room for two nights, dinner on Saturday night, a meeting room on Friday to meet and say "hi" to everybody you've been dying to meet, and a place on Sunday to say goodbye. Gambling and other stuff is your own responsibility. Interested? Sound like fun? Want to do it? I bet you do.
